 The Ravenstone Hotel
Welcome to the Ravenstone Hotel, a family run Country Hotel. We are Cherin and Kim Marmon-Saxe and Adam and Tina Saxe and along with the entire staff hope that you find our home a "Great Place to Stay."

The Ravenstone Hotel was converted from a Family Country House into a luxurious and comfortable hotel in 1950. Overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake and set against the backdrop of Skiddaw, it gives guests a perfect vantage point for breath taking views and glimpses of the neighbouring Ospreys. A brief drive from the picturesque market town of Keswick, the Ravenstone Hotel is conveniently located for many North Lake District walks and attractions.

The Nineteen en-suite rooms are decorated to a high standard, boast dramatic Lake District Views and are equipped with soft touch towels for after a hard days walking. The Hotel has a quaint bar with a luxurious lounge and a well-stocked games room. The games room accommodates a full size snooker table setup along with pool, table tennis and table football equipment. The grounds of the Hotel are a great start for many walks for any ability; a short amble through Dodd Wood looking for Ospreys nesting or the odd deer to a hike to the summit of Skiddaw.

The Ravenstone serves breakfast and dinner on a daily basis using local products.  On offer at breakfast are a range of cereals and fruit along with an excellent choice of cooked breakfasts. Every evening our chef prepares a delicious four course dinner for our guests to indulge in to include scrumptious home made desserts to wind up your experience.  Our menus include gluten free options for both breakfast and dinner on a daily basis.  Previous Guests have described the meal as ‘very tasty home cooked food’ (Trip Advisor, 2011). The Ravenstone Hotel also caters for coeliac sufferers and has been described as a ‘Gluten Free Heaven’ (Trip Advisor, 2011).

Keswick town centre is arranged around the Moot Hall which was built by German Miners in 1813. The town still holds a market on Saturdays and Thursdays however if shopping doesn’t excite you then outdoor activities such as Canoeing, Ghyll Scrambling or Rock Climbing may be your kind of past time. These activities can be done with businesses such as the ‘Keswick Climbing Wall’.  If your holiday is a case of rest and relaxation then maybe an early Ravenstone Dinner followed by a night at the Theatre by the Lake is just what you need. We are Ambassadors to the Theatre and can arrange tickets for you.
