I have recently been diagnosed with Coeliac disease where for medical reasons I need a special diet. A trip to the Lakes was the first time I had stayed away from home since the diagnosis and I was really nervous about how I was going to eat out again. I went for a meal with friends on the 27th April at the Ravenstone Hotel and would just like to pass on my thanks to the staff. They clearly understood the implications of my diet and made a special effort to cater for my needs. I felt included, reassured and confident. It was a lovely experience for my first meal out of the house and it was such a relief. Many thanks to all waiting and catering staff that evening - it meant a lot to me. Sincerely Louise.

If two teenage boys can say that they had a great time in the games room, looked forward to all the meals and asked if we can go back next time, that says it all for me. P.S. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay too, many thanks. Looks like we'll be back for another yomp once legs have recovered!

Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our brief visit. Hotel clean and well decorated; staff pleasant; food delicious! What more can be said? Oh yes - we didn't see an osprey - they haven't arrived.

This was our second stay at the Ravenstone and once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our five days with you. Everything was absolutely spot-on from the food to the excellent staff - it makes Monday morning and going back to work even harder! See you again next time.

The food and hospitality we received at the Ravenstone was second to none, we were a group of nine celebrating a Ruby Wedding Anniversary, Debbie, Andrew and their team where helpful and accommodating. The celebrating couple had the four posters superior room which was amazing, the views over the lake were breath taking and the room itself was beautifully decorated and well worth the extra payment. The only negative was that the single room was very small and the shower was a disappointing dribble. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful 3 days at the Ravenstone over the Easter break. The hotel was very comfortable and the food was of the highest quality. The full english breakfast was certainly more than enough to keep me going onto thee summit of Skiddaw and also on the Grisedale horseshoe. Evening meals were ample in quantity but excellent in quality. A special mention must be made of the sticky toffee puddding (including the coeliac version). The coeliac menu was as good as I have seen anywhere. Thanks for a relaxing and restful getaway.

This was our first visit to the Ravenstone Hotel and it won't be the last . Everything was lovely; the room, the food, the location and the cosy yet impressive lounge was lovely after a delicious evening meal. Finally the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Thankyou.

On each and every occasion we have stayed with you at Ravenstone, -over several years now, -we always feel like its going back "home". always a most welcoming reception on arrival and regrets when its time to depart. During each visit we have enjoyed 1 wide selection of first class food prepared to our taste, most comfortable accommodation and excellent service.
We are looking forward to our next visit in May this year.

We wanted the views, we wanted peace and quiet and a lovelly hotel, we got it all at Ravenstone. The room was great the food first class, the staff and owners all great people and Harry was a delight. Thanks from Karen and I for a great few days.

Wonderful Hotel, the Welcome the Staff and especially the food! I loved the Marmalade and the Savoury dishes and starters Mick loved the Sticky Toffee Pudding!

This hotel is perfect for coeliacs. To actually have a choice of gluten free dishes from each menu was indeed a luxury! The food was excellent, as was the service. Our room was comfortable and had a lovely view.

Perfect. Just what I'd hoped it would be - as promised, the view from our room (and everywhere else incidentally) was amazing, the Hotel was beautiful and the food fantastic! Despite this being our first stay we felt as welcome as the regulars and we will be back!

This hotel was a recommendation and we were not dissappointed in any way. Its such a lovely quiet hotel with great views, marvellous food and really friendly owners and staff. If you want to get away from the fast pace of every day life then this is well worth a visit.
